Sheets and towels are NOT PROVIDED.  You must bring your own.  However, pillows, blankets and bedspreads are provided.  All beds are full size.

All kitchens are fully equipped with: refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishes and pots & pans.  Remember to bring your own dish towels.

Each cabin has a TV that receives basic cable channels.

We allow dogs, providing they are attended to correctly (not left alone in cabin all day, cleaned up after, etc.) but there is a $25 pet fee that will be added to your reservation.

At Sunrise Cabins, we like to provide a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

Here is some information to help you prepare for your stay with us and for your visit to the Keweenaw Peninsula.
The Lake
Portage Lake is  a clean water lake that is 9,640 acres in size. There is channel access to Lake Superior through the north and south entries as well as access to Torch Lake to the east.  Our lakefront has no drop offs.  The water starts shallow and gradually gets deeper.

Our shoreline has a large dock, small sandy beach (when the water level is down) and a fire pit where you are welcome to start (and put out) your own campfire.  There is deep water anchorage available, should you choose to bring a boat.  We do not allow boats to be tied to the docks overnight, due to possible damage to your boat or our dock, if the waves on the lake get big.

All motorized water vehicles are allowed on the lake, as well as non-motorized.  We provide a paddle boat and kayaks to use at no cost to our customers.  And there are 2 resorts nearby that provide boat rentals, if you are interested.  If fishing is your forte, anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Black Crappie, Lake Sturgeon, Northern Pike, Rainbow Trout, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, Walleye and Yellow Perch.
